AMCA Toronto Scholarship 2015

It is our pleasure to announce the recipients of the annual AMCA Toronto scholarship awards. The selection committee had the extremely difficult job of selecting finalist from an incredible deep pool of candidates (over seventy well qualified individuals). After careful consideration the AMCA Executive Board have decided on two recipients:

Karlo Toljan, Zagreb, Croatia

Karlo is a fifth year medical student at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine. As a student he has been heavily involved in curricular activities as a student assistant (Physiology and Pathophysiology classes), as well as extracurricular activities (especially in the field of neuroscience). He is a leading member of the Student Society for Neuroscience and the deputy editor in the student publication ‘Gyrus’ which is focused on various ‘neuro’ topics. Developing an educational platform for his colleagues and promoting independent student projects is a part of his daily life, which he finds creative and rewarding.

Nikola Horvat, Podgorje (Virovitica), Croatia

Nikola is a fourth year student of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture at University of Zagreb. He is an excellent student and a recipient of the gold and silver medals at the state level competition. He is a student assistant at the Department of Design. He interned at such prestigious firms as Robert Bosch GmbH (Research & Development Centre) and Rimac Automobili d.o.o. during his time at university.

Congratulations to the recipients and we wish them continued success in their future endeavors. We invite all those who didn’t receive scholarships this year to apply again next year.
