John Scott Cowan: The War of 1812

Dear colleagues and friends,

AMCA Toronto invites its members and the community at large to an evening with John S. Cowan, a former principal of the Royal Military College of Canada, on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 7:45 pm, at the Faculty Club of U of T, 41 Willcocks Street, Toronto.

Dr Cowan will present the US, Canadian, and British views of the War of 1812, which are like the accounts of three witnesses to a traffic accident who all had different vantage points – it hardly sounds like the same event. The lecture will be in English.

Admission, which will include hors d’oeuvres and a glass of wine or beer, is $15 for members of AMCA Toronto with paid membership fee, and $25 for others. (For your information the tickets cover only food and drinks, while the costs of the lecture and premises are borne by AMCA Toronto). For students, admission to the lecture will be free. Before the lecture, coffee and tea will be served. After the lecture, everybody is invited to mingle in the Pub of the Faculty Club which will be open only for us. For more information, please see the attachments.

Registration at lectureseries@amcatoronto.com is mandatory.
